The Center of Excellence in Genomic Science (CEGS) coordinates the efforts of several research laboratories at Yale, with the goal of discovering and analyzing the vast amount of information encoded within the human genome. A primary focus of the Center lies in the construction of genomic DNA microarrays of human chromosomes and other key genetic loci, which are used to map RNA coding sequences and regulatory elements. The Center also provides training to students and postdoctoral fellows as well as minority groups through community outreach programs.
